Professional services firm Aon appoints Nadin Virani as interim CFO following the immediate departure of Edmund Reese, who moves to an advisory position

A C-suite shake-up at professional services firm Aon sees Chief Financial Officer Edmund Reese leave his executive post with immediate effect to seek new opportunities elsewhere.

Nadin Virani, who sits on the company's executive committee, steps up as interim finance chief while the board searches for a permanent successor.

To ensure operational continuity during the executive transition, Edmund will transition into an advisory role, consulting for Aon President and CEO Greg Case through to 16 August 2027.

Search for permanent finance head

Aon has already retained an executive recruitment firm to run a broad search across internal and external candidates to fill the CFO position permanently.

In the interim, Nadin takes command of the global finance division, reporting directly to Greg. He will work alongside senior leadership to manage balance sheet strategy, cash allocation and corporate reporting.

Nadin says: “I am honoured to serve as Interim CFO of Aon and build on the strong foundation we have established across our Finance organisation.

“We will remain focused on financial discipline and thoughtful investment in the business as we continue to support Aon's growth and create long-term shareholder value.”

“His financial expertise and proven leadership will be invaluable as we continue to accelerate our Aon United strategy and create better outcomes for clients and shareholders.”

Legacy and strategic execution

Edmund's immediate exit marks the end of his tenure overseeing the firm's capital deployment and growth initiatives, including the execution of its corporate 3x3 Plan.

“I want to recognise Edmund for his many contributions to our firm,” Greg continues.

“Through consistent execution of our 3x3 Plan and a relentless and disciplined focus on performance, Edmund has helped to enhance our capabilities, accelerate growth and deliver meaningful value for our shareholders.”

Reflecting on his departure and the position of the business, Edmund highlighted the company's financial base. “It has been a privilege to serve as CFO of Aon,” he notes.
