David Dai, CFO of Auditoria.ai, speaks to Finance Chief about the company’s latest expansion for Workday customers and AI in the cash cycle

In a move bringing together accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) operations to SmartResearch intelligence, Audioria.ai announces the expansion of its Cash Cycle offering for Workday Financial Management customers.

David Dai, CFO at Auditoria.ai, speaks to Finance Chief exclusively: “As CFOs, we don’t think purely about AP, AR, budget analyses and cash visibility as separate problems.  They all link together with how well we understand, operate and move cash throughout managing our business.

“In the finance org, responsibilities are split across different teams, systems, and processes, so even when each function is performing well, we still have to stitch the broader cash picture together.”

Across AP and AR, Auditoria says it is approaching US$50bn in annual agentic transaction processing.

The new Cash Cycle platform connects work performed across AP and AR to paramount information for finance teams which influence decision making.

AI enhancements for finance

The latest governance enhancements, Agent Policies, also provide essential insights for finance teams.

It simplifies operations for agents, giving users an easier option to define parameters, rules, and approvals.

The control is handed back to finance teams through the enhancement, instead of creating additional admin by treating governance and technology as separate.

David continues: “This is what makes Auditoria’s expansion with Workday impactful today. CFOs are ultimately accountable for cash as one discrete outcome, but most finance systems today manage that work across multiple systems and processes.

“Bringing agents, intelligence, governance and cash management together across AP and AR begins to close that gap.

“This allows Finance to manage more of the Cash Cycle as an interconnected operating process, rather than a disparate collection of functions that come together at the end.”

As CFOs, we don’t think purely about AP, AR, budget analyses and cash visibility as separate problems.”

Workday’s AI priority

As a founding member of Workday’s AI Agent Partner Network, Auditoria offers agents registered in Workday’s Agent System of Record (ASOR) that are accessible via the Workday Marketplace.

Tim Wakeford, VP Financials Product Strategy, at Workday, notes: “Workday Financial Management gives finance teams a strong foundation for managing their financial operations, and Auditoria extends that value into day-to-day work across AP and AR.

“By bringing agentic capabilities into these processes, Auditoria gives Workday customers ways to act on financial information and manage more of the cash cycle than they have ever been able to before.”

Workday is a long-time supporter of Auditoria, first contributing to its series A round in 2021, and recently investing US$250m in 2023.

SmartResearch expansion

Broadening the scope of SmartResearch past standard financial insights and analytics, Auditoria is also introducing new functionality spanning AP and AR.

A skill builder framework empowers teams to design repeatable workflows and reporting using plain language queries.

The update brings extended functionality, including a dedicated document vault alongside enhanced tailoring options.

These features grant finance departments greater oversight of SmartResearch within their organisations and the specific tasks executed across AP and AR.

Auditoria intends to incorporate general ledger, treasury, and FP&A datasets into SmartResearch, progressively expanding the scope of its self-governing Cash Cycle model well beyond core AP and AR functions.
