FedEx leadership reacts to Jamere's appointment

Discussing Jamere’s appointment, Raj Subramaniam, President and CEO of FedEx Corporation, says: “Jamere brings a deep understanding of how disciplined financial strategy translates into strong operational performance.”

He adds that Jamere has proven himself as a leader who can “balance strategic investments in growth with an unwavering focus on profitability, cash generation, and capital allocation”.

“I am confident Jamere’s leadership will support FedEx’s strong momentum in driving profitable growth and help deliver long-term value for stockholders,” Raj says.

Commenting on his appointment, Jamere calls FedEx a “remarkable business with an extraordinary team and significant opportunity ahead”.

FedEx's larger operational overhaul

In addition to the new leadership, FedEx has seen transitional changes across the past year.

The company recently spun off its freight division and sold its supply-chain unit to CMA CGM Group, two moves that have allowed FedEx to focus on its core parcel business.

FedEx is also progressing through Raj’s operational overhaul of the company to merge the historically separate air and ground delivery networks.

FedEx has struggled to rebound following several years of stagnant demand, pressured by inflation and tariffs, in addition to a comedown from a pandemic-driven boom in e-commerce deliveries.

Both FedEx and UPS have since shifted their emphasis to high-value shipments, such as those for the healthcare and high-tech sectors.

As of the end of Q3 – which saw revenue reach US$22.8bn – FedEx held US$2.7bn in cash on hand to refund customers who had paid US President Donald Trump's IEEPA tariffs, which were struck down by the Supreme Court earlier this year.

FedEx filed a lawsuit in February against the administration to seek refunds, and stated that it intends to distribute them to its customers.
