BlackLine has announced that it has paired with global fintech Nuvei to shorten collection cycles through embedded payments in BlackLine’s services

BlackLine products that include invoice presentment and payment capabilities has been embedded with Nuvei’s payments infrastructure.

The partnership, already live for enterprise customers, enables settlement of invoices immediately upon receipt - with automatic reconciliation and matching.

The companies note that while modern finance platforms offer invoicing, financial reporting and accounts receivable, the workflow remains disrupted when it comes to managing payments.

Speaking to Finance Chief exclusively, Ben Weiner, Global Head of Partner Channel at Nuvei explains: “CFOs today are looking for ways to accelerate cash flow while simplifying finance operations.

“Through our partnership with BlackLine, we're helping organisations streamline the invoice-to-cash cycle, shorten DSO and create better commerce experiences for buyers and suppliers – the latter meaningfully strengthens the value of our partners core software platforms.”

The partnership offers a combination of invoicing, payments and reconciliation, bringing more unity to payment acceptance in the office of the CFO.

The business benefit

Businesses will be able to give payers a single source of information that allows them to question, view and settle invoices. Additionally it is also equipped to collect funds in 150 currencies, in over 190 markets – without having to leave existing finance workflows.

Andy Lilley, Managing Director, Invoice-to-Cash at BlackLine, comments: “Finance leaders are under increasing pressure to improve cash flow while operating more efficiently.

“Offering flexibility in customer payment receipts plays a critical role in that process, yet it has often remained separate from the systems used to manage invoicing, collections and receivables.

“This partnership brings those capabilities together, helping customers streamline invoice-to-cash operations while delivering a better payment experience.”

Operational complexity is also reduced as connected payment and invoice data serve to work with finance teams and improve accuracy and visibility.

Clients will also be able to, without manual keying, match incoming payments to open receivables automatically.

The partnership similarly offers the opportunity for local payment methods, cards and bank transfers to be accepted directly on the invoice.

Businesses can also track cash position and payment status in real time.

Managing liquidity in the future

Nuvei’s overall plans include furthering its mission to integrate payment functionalities directly into the core platforms that enterprises depend on for managing vital financial processes.

Phil Fayer, Chair and CEO of Nuvei, notes: “Payments should feel like a natural extension of the invoice-to-cash process, not a separate workflow. Finance teams expect it to work inside the systems they already use to manage receivables, collections and cash flow.

“By partnering with BlackLine, we are embedding Nuvei's global payments infrastructure directly into those workflows to help enterprises accelerate collections, improve visibility, and reduce complexity.”

As organisations update their invoice-to-cash workflows, accepting payments is shifting from an isolated function to a fundamental component of the financial technology stack.

Through direct integration with software solutions like BlackLine, Nuvei expands the reach of its infrastructure into the very applications that assist corporations in optimising liquidity, managing working capital, and tracking cash flow.
