Luxury jewellery brand Pandora announces that after seven years as CFO, Anders Boyer will retire, handing the financial reigns to newcomer Paulo Garcia

Pandora is set to welcome a new finance chief as Anders Boyer prepares to retire on 30 November 2026. Taking over the helm is Paulo Garcia, who arrives on 1 October 2026 and officially assumes the CFO role on 1 December 2026.

To ensure stability during the leadership switch, Anders stays on until 31 March 2027 to assist with the handover process.

Paulo, a Portuguese national, brings a quarter-century of executive leadership in consumer goods across European and Latin American markets.

He arrives from Walmex, a US$50bn listed arm of Walmart with 240,000 workers, where he spent five years as CFO.

His background also includes serving as CFO for Europe and Indonesia at Ahold Delhaize, alongside a 22-year tenure at Unilever that culminated in leading its European finance operations.

Paulo says: “I am excited and honoured to take on the role as CFO of Pandora. As the world’s largest jewellery brand, the company represents an attractive and unique business model with industry-leading margins and very high cash generation.

“The company has significant growth potential, and I look forward to working closely with the whole organisation to unlock the next phase of growth under Berta’s leadership.”

Leadership transition and strategic focus

The arrival comes as Pandora focuses on digital evolution and operational efficiency across its global footprint, areas where Paulo holds direct experience.

Berta de Pablos-Barbier, CEO of Pandora, says: “I am delighted to welcome Paulo Garcia to Pandora. He joins us with an excellent track record and deep financial expertise from senior roles in the consumer goods industry.

“He combines commercial and financial acumen with a strong focus on people and culture, while also bringing experience in digital transformation and the application of AI across business processes, making him the ideal candidate to further strengthen and build on Pandora’s financial performance.”

Track record of high returns

Anders leaves a strong commercial legacy at the Danish jewellery group. After joining the board in 2012 and stepping into the CFO position in 2018, he co-led a successful corporate restructuring alongside former chief executive Alexander Lacik before launching the Phoenix strategy in 2021.

Berta continues: “I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to Anders Boyer for his extraordinary contribution to Pandora’s growth journey and for helping build the strong financial position the company enjoys today. He has been an outstanding CFO for Pandora and a trusted partner to me. On behalf of everyone at Pandora, I wish him every happiness in his retirement.”

Over his 14 years at the firm, revenue surged 389%, generating a total return for shareholders above 2,000%. His financial steering earned him Denmark's CFO of the Year award in 2021.

Anders says: “I leave Pandora with a deep sense of gratitude for the many colleagues I have worked with and immense pride in what we have achieved together. Pandora has undergone a significant transformation and is a very different company from when I joined.

“I hand over to Paulo Garcia with great confidence, given his strong industry background and track record in global finance. I am certain that he is the right person to help drive the company’s continued growth. I now look forward to retiring from executive life and pursue a non-executive career.”
