People Moves: Baxter International & Fortune Brands

Baxter International has announced the appointment of John Rogers as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective 1 October 2026.
He succeeds Joel Grade, who departed the role earlier this year, with Anita Zielinski having served as interim CFO during the search. John will report directly to President and CEO Andrew Hider.
John joins Baxter from Smith+Nephew, the medical technology group, where he has served as CFO since 2024 after joining as CFO-designate in 2023.
Before that, he was CFO of WPP, where he led the creative services company's global transformation programme.
Earlier in his career, John held senior leadership roles at Sainsbury's, including as CEO of Sainsbury's Argos, where he oversaw a major digital transformation of the retailer's omnichannel business, and as CFO of Sainsbury's itself.
He also brings public-company board experience, having served as an independent director and audit committee chair at Grab Holdings and, previously, Travis Perkins.
“John brings deep global finance and transformation experience to the role, most recently serving as CFO of Smith+Nephew. We are so excited for John to join the Baxter team not only because of his decades of expertise, but also for the way he approaches leadership. He is thoughtful, collaborative and focused on building strong teams that can deliver results,” says Andrew.
“John will be a great addition as we continue our work to stabilise the business, strengthen the balance sheet and drive a culture of continuous improvement.”
Fortune Brands Innovations has named Peter Clifford Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective 21 September 2026.
The appointment was confirmed by the company's Board of Directors, with Peter bringing more than 30 years of finance leadership experience across building products, healthcare and industrial businesses.
Peter previously held public-company CFO and COO roles at The AZEK Company and Cantel Medical, and most recently served as CFO of Filtration Group Corporation between February 2025 and August 2026.
Earlier in his career, he held multiple finance leadership positions at IDEX Corporation and GE, developing expertise in global operations, finance transformation and mergers and acquisitions while building credibility with shareholders through clear, effective communication.
Fortune Brands Chief Executive Officer Jesse Singh says: “Pete is a disciplined leader who has led businesses to strengthen execution, improve financial processes and create long-term value. Importantly, he brings a pragmatic and balanced approach to both finance and operations. He has worked closely with manufacturing and supply chain operations and understands the day-to-day realities of running a business.”
“We expect this practical perspective on what drives performance will help us improve execution and continue to build a stronger company. We are excited to have him join the team”
Upon Peter’s arrival, Ashley George, the company's Interim CFO, will step back into the role of Senior Vice President, Finance, which she previously held.
The appointment comes as Fortune Brands Innovations, whose portfolio includes Moen, Therma-Tru, Master Lock and Yale residential, continues to navigate leadership changes alongside its broader strategy across the home, security and digital products markets.
