The CFO Summit: What Finance Leaders Need to Know

As financial resilience takes centre stage in boardrooms around the world, the role of the CFO is evolving. In increasingly volatile markets, finance leaders need to adapt and stay one step ahead – which is not an easy task.
Nestled in the heart of London, this October The CXO Summit will gather influential business leaders to discuss, debate and challenge perspectives. At the centre of the event sits The CFO Summit, a panel discussion dedicated to finance leaders to explore capital strategy, digital finance, risk management, compliance and leadership in uncertain markets.
Where: Convene, 155 Bishopsgate, London
When: 8 October 2026
What time: 09:30-10:15AM
What is the role of the CFO?
Some would simply define a Chief Financial Officer by the finance function; risk management, cash flow and financial planning and analysis.
But what about the Chief in Chief Financial Officer? The CFO session is dedicated for like-minded leaders in finance.
The inaugural event, hosted by BizClik, the company behind Sustainability LIVE, Procurement LIVE and AI LIVE, aims to bring together CFOs to explore exactly how the role is evolving.
The wider picture
Macroeconomics have plunged CFOs into a period of pessimism, according to a recent survey by Deloitte.
- Only 26% of CFOs surveyed plan to increase capex in the next 12 months
- 48% of CFOs feel pessimistic about the financial prospects of their company
- Only 19% of CFOs feel optimistic about the financial prospects of their company
- European CFOs are more pessimistic in 2026 than throughout the 2022 energy crisis
- Deloitte surveyed 1,100 CFOs in more than 12 countries
It’s hard not to talk about the elephant in the room; with ongoing geopolitical changes, CFO confidence is fluctuating.
The CFO Summit panel also discusses leadership in uncertain markets, with attendees learning and sharing how to lead with a renewed sense of confidence as global changes make for a rapidly shifting market.
Chief Financial Officers are also pivotal to the overall leadership strategy of a company, pairing data and leadership insights to steer the company upwards.
Attendees of the panel can also glean insights around how best to support enterprise growth in addition to learning how to harness data for essential insights.
As Rafael Sueiro, EVP and Group CFO for Radisson Hotel Group said in the July Finance Chief Interview, CFOs must “know the business”.
If no-one is asking your input, that’s when you need to worry.”
